Scott Rechler is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of RXR Realty LLC (“RXR”), a multi-billion dollar private real estate company, formed after the sale of Reckson Associates Realty Corp, one of the largest public Real Estate buyouts in REIT history.

Mr. Rechler served as CEO and Chairman of the Board during Reckson’s dynamic growth throughout New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester and Connecticut. He was the architect of Reckson’s $300 million IPO in 1995 and $6 billion sale in 2007 generating over 700% return to shareholders.

Since its formation, Scott has led RXR to become one of the largest owners, managers, and developers in the New York Tri-State area with 89 commercial real estate properties and investments containing 23.6 million square feet - a gross value of $13 billion and a residential development pipeline of 3,000 units.

In 2011, he was appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, followed by Vice Chairman of the Board.  As Chairman of the Port Authority’s Capital Planning Committee, he oversaw a $30 billion capital budget including the World Trade Center redevelopment. He was then asked to represent Governor Cuomo on the Board of The September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center Foundation, Inc.

Having enhanced the communities where RXR operates, he serves as Chairman of the Regional Planning Association, is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the Advisory Committees of Hofstra and NYU’s Real Estate Institute. He is on the Boards of The Long Island Children’s Museum, The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, and is Co-Chairman of the Tribeca Film Institute. 

A graduate of Clark University, Scott earned a Masters of Science in Real Estate at the New York University Schack Institute.
