Tony Danza & the Stars of Tomorrow June 20, 2017

Dear Friends and PAL Supporters,

I am happy to report that PAL’s Acting program is now its largest teen program. We have grown to three installations, two in Manhattan and one in the South Bronx. Our outreach continues through public and charter schools, with a response we could have only hoped for. We just graduated sixty young artists from a 10-week program and I wish you could see the change in the kids and the pride and gratitude of their parents. You would know, as I do, that this program makes a difference. College prep, internships, and even nutrition are being addressed along with the wide-ranging artistic and life experience the program provides. I hope you will join us at John Jay College this year to see the tangible results of your support. I promise it will be a fun, exciting night of entertainment and joy. Thank you in advance.

Love,

Join us for this one-night-only showcase performance starring Tony Danza and the teens who take part in PAL's Acting Program. Every year, we provide athletics, academics and the arts, helping 30,000 at-risk children realize their full individual potential as productive members of society.

Tony Danza performs at PAL's 2016 Real Estate and Construction LuncheonAs a lifelong PAL kid who valued the programs available to him as a teen, Tony Danza joined the PAL board of directors to give back to the organization that helped him achieve his dreams. With dozens of TV, film and stage roles on his resume, Tony was first discovered during a gym workout while he pursued a professional boxing career with a love of athletics he learned at PAL. The star of Taxi and Who's the Boss?, Tony earned an Emmy for his guest role on The Practice and received critical acclaim for his performance in Eugene O'Neill's "The Iceman Cometh" on Broadway. Most recently, Tony Danza and his band have been thrilling audiences by combining timeless music with wit, charm, storytelling, and a dash of soft shoe and ukulele performances in "Standards & Stories," his Feinstein’s/54 Below show. After joining the board of PAL in 2014, Tony worked to launch the Teen Acting Program under the philosophy that when you teach a kid how to act, you teach a kid how to act.
